The new poster for the upcoming Batman flick was released yesterday. What are your thoughts? I hate to admit, but this is the first disappointment I have had with the early buzz for the film. I think Ledger will do a good job, but there is something almost sophmoric and predictable about this poster. Cillian Murphy handled the villian duties admirably in Chris Nolan's first re-imagining, here's to hoping this one doesn't fall victim to laziness.
(When put up against the Sweeney Todd poster, its no comparison) LINK

The "Why So Serious?" tagline works for me though
I know i will disagree with everyone here when i say that it is tired.
The remake genre itself is tired... and i cant believe the rest of the world is not exhausted as well.
My criteria for a remake is simple... if it sucked and everyone knows it, then by all means remake it. Burton's batman was good enough to not fall into this category.
And also, if it was created in a different era, then remake. Computer enhancement has not gotten so far beyond the fx in the 90's to consider this a different movie era. Cinema in all reality still feels the same as it did a 15 years ago, though it is advancing. We just havent hit the whole different feel as say color - bw
Long comment but thats my rant.
Bring it movie-whores...
I agree with the CG stuff, but am confident the pendulum of quality movies will swing back somewhere towards the middle. What do you think about the poster?
I dont get it... so did the joker paint it and make the mouth a bat? Why would he do that... that is free advertisement for the "dark knight."
I dont think the joker painted it at all... i think some marketing clown got confused and thought it would look cool.
wait till my post on the marketing campaign for this film it is revolutonary, sorry been busy,
By the way I like the poster, and this is based on a different series of Batman comics, not that it means anything to you, this isn't a remake
The term I used was re-imagining. Check yourself
you do realize he made the last Batman with Bale, so i am bit confuse at the term Re-Imagining. I know you love it when i throw you homerun pitches like that.
Also i was referring to TRN comments on remakes.
