Micah Owings' bat could get a little more play next season, and we're not just talking about pinch-hitting appearances. Owings, who last season made 27 starts out of the Diamondbacks' rotation and posted a 4.30 ERA, could find his way onto the field, perhaps at first base. "It's potentially, depending on how our roster looks, an option," manager Bob Melvin said Tuesday during a Q&A session with reporters.

the kid can pitch and hit... he wont start at first unless their other first baseman dont work out.
but watch for him to pitch a few innings and then move to first for a single batter and then move back to finish the inning. Melvin has been waiting to do this for a while, the situation just never came up.
Remember, Hershiser has the Dodgers best pinch hitter in their champoionship year of 88. What a sad comment on CoJax, that they might turn to a pitcher. What bust he has become.
