Oh this is hilarious. First, explain to me why Ron Paul supporters are buying a blimp, and why isn't he stopping them? Second, why weren't they suspicious when they actually received $400,000 in pledges FROM RONPAUL SUPPORTERS!!! Alarm bells should have been going off all over, but RonPaul people everywhere seem to be caught up in the Perot populist fantasy.
Ron Paul Blimp Project Pleads for Funds
December 06, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com
A plea has gone up on a website dedicated to the rental of a blimp to promote the presidential hopes of limited-government candidate Ron Paul (R-Tex). The site can be seen here: RonPaulBlimp.comThe statement reads:"We must receive $200,000 in sponsorships by midnight on Friday for the blimp to be in Boston by December 15th! Please sponsor the Ron Paul Blimp Tour now!"As of the morning of December 6th, the site stated it had received $119,775 in donations plus $5,500 in wire transfer purchases. While $125,000 is fairly substantial, at least another $75,000 must be raised if the private project is to meet its goals. This is a far cry from the $400,000 plus that had supposedly been pledged for the blimp, much of which has not yet been collected and is thought now to be questionable at best. There are even Internet reports that the project come under sustained attack by those wishing to inflate the totals with an eye toward damaging its credibility. Some of the e-mails addresses reveal derogatory sentiments, according to sources, but it was presumed several days ago that the majority of pledges were sound. LINK
I didn't know RonPaul tomfoolery was such a widespread web pasttime....

You are so eager to criticize Ron Paul that you don't even stop to check the most basic facts first.
The blimp has nothing to do with Ron Paul's official campaign. The effort is completely driven by supporters, and none of this money even goes through the campaign. So, no, Ron Paul is not spending campaign money on this, and no, he hasn't been duped by anyone.
Please, criticize away, but don't make yourself look foolish with your uninformed drivel.
Nothing to do with his campaign other than carrying his name on its side. True, it wasnt acutally commissioned by Ron Paul but can't we get a good sense of his viability as president from the actions of his supporters?
I think the point of the article was to point out that, once again, it is the supporteres of Ron Paul that are actually the biggest hinderance from him being president.
While every other candidates supporters sponsor fund-raising dinners and promote stump speeches, Ron Paul's people use botnets and runup redditt and digg news postings... and now apparently fall short of hiring a blimp.
The ignorance I encounter astounds me.
1) "Ron Paul's people use botnets" Absolutely false. The stories that came out yesterday showed that the spam was generated by commercial/criminal group of spammers out of the Ukraine. They choose email subjects that they think might interest people enough to open the email. Do you think that the makers of Viagra are behind the Viagra-related spam?
2) "falling short of hiring a blimp" False. The blimp is being prepared right now and will fly (weather permitting) up the east coast towards Boston for the Tea Party on Dec. 16. The only question was how long they could operate it.
As to the blimp being a hindrance to the campaign, we'll just have to disagree. I think it's pretty clever.
uninformed drivel? While not an official act of the campaign, it is still $400,000-money that could be better spent on more annoying campaign signs that clutter every intersection.
What will the blimp accomplish? How will this help Ron be elected president? If it is such a great idea Libertymark, how much did you pledge. TRN said it the best, while Ron's message has honorable tenets, his supporters are too often an embarrasment and an indication that this campaign will soon be forgotten. It was also a report on people having fun with those that take themselves so seriously. Sorry libertymark, my work is very esoteric and I am used to readers who are not pretentious and take the time to get the joke. I will take care to dumb down my posts from now on so you get them. Can you use the word "drivel" in another sentence for me without it being preceded by "uninformed". Its a tad cliche', and intellectually lazy on your part.
PS don't come on so hard if you don't want your ass handed to you in the process. Stop trolling blogs finding ways to defend RonPaul. He is a magical wizard... he can take care of himself
Posted months ago...
Once again, the issue is not the official campaign, but the legions of Paultards out there.
...taken straight from wonkette.com
In their continuing quest to destroy the world, Ron Paul supporters have been stepping up their spamming efforts through the employ of rogue spambots. According to the University of Alabama-Birmingham’s computer forensics research department — which has some project where they read spam messages all day — many of the Paultards’ e-mails are “clearly not coming from Ron Paul’s official campaign, but rather illegitimate spam operations and botnets.”
After tai-pan's post, I dont have much to say other than the blimp would be a little bit more clever had it not been used by every bachelor seeking to ask his bride to marry him. What's next, placing ron paul ads at the bottom of ice cream sundaes?
OOh! that's a good one. I am going to have to post a picture of some of the signs around locally. No joke, hand scribbled 8.5 x 10 signs stapled to telephone polls - and all libertymark can say is "I think its clever" well, if being clever is your goal, and not becoming President, then RonPaul seems to be on the right track. Perhaps hiring a blimp is an effort to get the fat chick vote. (lame)
Tai-Pan, all I can say is thank you for modifying your post so that at least it is now factually accurate. Pretty much an admission that what you originally posted was a lie...
Why don't you let me decide when I admit something I said is a lie. Your curt response tells me you have put the thesaurus down and are willing to keep this going. I changed the intro because it was misleading - somehow it attracted a dummy like you to comment without grasping the theme of the post. Is the argument here my changing of four words so you can better understand what is going on?
And yes, I do take extra-care to edit and re-edit my posts. It provides cover for my condescension
You do realize that we post negatively on RonPaul just to lure people like you in so we can brain you with our intelectual maces. Keep it up - it sates our bloodlust
After checking the blog, it wasnt tai-pan that modified it but rather a russian botnet. Im sorry but this is now out of our hands and therefore we have no culpability, even though we are the only ones the benefit from it.
And since I said it was a russian botnet, now you have the burden of proving that it wasnt.
Wow that was definately for real. I sure hope he clicked on some ads, so we could make some money.
Sounds like TRN must be a law student with the poorly written final comment.
Anyways just wanted to point out that he or she (i don't know for sure) Libertymark (which makes no sense to me) that TRN point about DIGG and Redditt being ruined by Ron Paul supporters. Because like trolling for blogs defending their choice for a president they also spend time click on the diggs and redditt buttons, that is a life, i wonder if they get paid or if they are just volunteers for Paul campaign. I bet you there is a memo out there for Paul supporters telling to do this with the news sites and blogs.
Now Tai-Pan...I am so confused...you're like the boy who cried wolf...you've inflated your comments so much that I never know if its a real person arguing with you or if I should think about committing your "Beautiful Mind"...
great pictures by the way
megan wouldn't have said it was real if it wasn't. You know it ain't real if it what the supposedly made up name says is not funny. Cause what would be the point of making up stuff that isn't funny
maybe I thought libertymark was funny....
Hey, that is a nice pinstripe suit that David is wearing, and to think that it comes in a three-piece? We're talking about a trend starter. I've noticed that three pieces are started to show up among those famaliar with the latest fashions.
Everyone should know about the suit broker in downtown Phoenix who can get some truly fine suits at a great price, and he is great to work with. His name is Barry and he is at the corner of central and Thomas. His shop is very small, but he can deliver the goods.
Next time I'm down I'm going to try and get some time with David and maybe he can get me up to speed with something for 2008.
